Nothing you can point to directly.
But enough to know something isn’t landing the same way it was before.
Trying to Solve for Something That Isn’t Logical
Early on, I approached these moments like problems to fix.
Was something missed?
Was something misunderstood?
Was there a breakdown in communication?
So I’d review everything:
- The structure
- The conversations
- The outcome
And most of the time, everything checked out.
That’s when I started to understand—
this wasn’t about what happened.
It was about how it felt.
When the Energy Doesn’t Match the Outcome
There’s a specific kind of disconnect that can happen in high-profile environments.
Where:
- The result is successful
- The process was handled professionally
- But the reaction doesn’t reflect either
And you realize you’re not dealing with logistics anymore.
You’re dealing with perception.
Learning to Recognize the Pattern
Over time, I stopped trying to force these situations into something they weren’t.
Instead, I started paying attention to patterns:
- When recognition wasn’t felt
- When expectations weren’t verbally expressed—but clearly present
- When being “included” wasn’t the same as being “centered”
That’s when things started to make more sense.
There’s No Perfect Way to Navigate It
You can:
- Be prepared
- Be thoughtful
- Be strategic
And still find yourself in a moment where something shifts beyond your control.
That doesn’t mean something was done wrong.
It means you’re working in an environment where human dynamics are part of the equation—whether acknowledged or not.
Sometimes everything can be right…
and still feel wrong to someone on the other side.
And if you ignore that,
you’ll miss what’s actually driving the situation.
